3 Least-Cost Solutions for Laying out PEX In-Floor Radiant Heating Systems

Malco’s recent introduction of a RedLine Handled 5-Blade Crimper has prompted some questions about crimping technique.  Is there a right way or a wrong way, or perhaps a preferred way for the user to orient the crimper in the hand when crimping around the edge of round sheet metal duct, venting or stove pipe?

How does crimping overhead, on a workbench or at floor level change how you work?  Do you change the upper and lower handle orientation around in your hand in order to complete the crimping task?  Is there a preference for blade orientation?  Three blades inside the pipe and two blades outside, or two blades in and three blades out?

Ultra-clean, straight cuts in 8-1/4” (210 mm) wide fiber cement plank are possible with the Model FCC4 Guillotine Shear.  An exclusive large, stable support plate, with board stop, ensures straight, square cuts every time without compressing the 5/16” (8 mm) trim edge of the plank.  No sharpening is required.  The Guillotine shearing action is quiet and generates minimal dust.  Optimum handle leverage reduces user fatigue.
