Simplify vinyl rail installation for professional results! Vinyl Fence Post Nibblers, from Malco, remove a 1/4” (6.35 mm) slug from the bottom of rail slots in vinyl posts, which allows the installer to angle rails as needed to follow terrain contours. Malco Nibblers are available for the two most common slot widths, nominal 1-1/2” and 2” (38 mm and 51 mm). Inserting and adjusting the nibbler is fast and easy. A wedge-style width adjustment ensures a square fit and no walking for consistently aligned cuts. Rack and pinion drive action and a steep angled blade produces a smooth cutting operation in vinyl wall thickness up to .150” (3.8 mm). The comfortable gripped handle reduces fatigue of repetitive motions. Hardened steel components prolong service life of the tool, and blade and die components are easily replaceable – even on the job site.

Experience real savings on every in-floor radiant heating installation with less labor intensive tools from Malco Products. Start with the Malco PEX TUBING UNCOILER! The compact and lightweight Uncoiler easily accommodates 500 ft (152 m) tubing coils of 1 in (25.4 mm) PEX (polyethylene cross-linked tubing) or 1000 ft (305 m) coils of 1/2 in (12.7 mm) PEX. The Uncoiler unit stores in a steel-reinforced plastic case measuring just 40” x 17” x 5” (102 x 43 x 13 cm) for easy transporting in a truck or van. Carrying weight is only 50 lbs. (22.7 kg)! Setup is fast and easy. The open case, with a built-in, heavy-duty turntable, serves as the Uncoiler base. No tools are required for assembly. Durable steel component parts and simplicity of operation assure long service life. An eyelet loop, at the end of the unit’s rotating arm, allows tubing to be pulled off the Uncoiler in any direction. And factory-adjusted tensioning prevents backlash and spreading of tubing off the turntable regardless of coil size. An optional Wheel and Handle Kit for the Uncoiler’s case is also available.

For securing a PEX layout on a foamboard insulated base, Malco’s FOAMBOARD STAPLING SYSTEM is the easy answer. The Malco Foamboard Stapler operates from a comfortable standing position. An in-line D-grip correctly positions the user’s hand when applying downward stapling pressure or when lifting and carrying the tool. This efficient ergonomic design offers the user maximum control and handling ease for staple placement. A solid one-piece aluminum magazine smoothly feeds staples and stands up to the most rugged job-site environments. And a precision stapling action automatically adjusts to set up and guide staples into the foamboard without risk of the staple deforming or failing. Plastic Staple loading strips are joined together with an invisible plastic micro weld that allows staples to separate cleanly as they are engaged in the stapler mechanism. The extra-sharp, dual barbed staple design increases “bite” and holding power in 1 in (25.4 mm) and 2 in (12.7 mm) foamboard. Additional barbs on the popular 2-1/2 in (63.5 mm) staple size actually double holding power in 2 in (50.8 mm) foamboard.

And now, attaching PEX to a wire grid is fast and easy with the Malco PEX TO WIRE TOOL AND CLIP SYSTEM. This system offers the lowest cost per connection for securing PEX to wire. The tool features a 25-count clip capacity magazine feed that speeds through the PEX installation. Heavy-duty 12-gauge (2.5 mm) steel clips will not jam, break or abrade the tubing. A generous opening and inside diameter makes these clips safe to use for all PEX to wire fastening applications and all brands of PEX tubing from 3/8” (10 mm) to 3/4” (19 mm) diameters. The innovative tool design features Malco “RedLine” handles for comfortable one hand operation, including a durable, easy-open / easy-close ambidextrous latch. The easy-to-grasp handle opening reduces operator fatigue by maximizing the powerful leverage of compound head-to-handle linkage while providing a natural fit and feel for any hand.

See all of these labor-saving tools in action and then share your impressions. Go to the Malco website http://www.malcoproducts.com/howto/rh-full-high.asp to view a short video presentation.

With a 20-gauge capacity in galvanized steel (1.02mm) or mild steel (0.91mm), Malco Hole Cutters are ideal for making large or small diameter take-offs in metal ductwork, cutting outlet holes in metal building and roofing panels or threading utility holes in metal stud framing. The compact model HC1 Hole Cutter is adjustable for making 2-inch to 12-inch (51 to 305mm) diameter holes. The larger HC2 model cuts 2-inch to 20-inch (51 to 508mm) holes. A combination English/Metric gauge is provided on the pivot slide of both models. Pivot pin adjustment is fast and easy with the aid of a wrench or screwdriver shaft. The pivot pin design also features large bolt and nut threads to resist stripping or fracture, and a low profile for easy hand clearance. One Cutter Bit fits both Hole Cutter models and is easily replaceable on the job. A fast drilling speed for creating pilot holes assures an overall speedy hole cutting operation. The Malco cutter bit features a long-lasting, mill type cutting edge and a large flat for adjusting the cutting edge location up or down to extend bit life. Precision-fit, sealed bearings also extend bit life by preventing premature wear of cutting edge or failure of bit shank.

Are We Crimping Your Style?

Malco’s recent introduction of a RedLine Handled 5-Blade Crimper has prompted some questions about crimping technique. Is there a right way or a wrong way, or perhaps a preferred way for the user to orient the crimper in the hand when crimping around the edge of round sheet metal duct, venting or stove pipe?

How does crimping overhead, on a workbench or at floor level change how you work? Do you change the upper and lower handle orientation around in your hand in order to complete the crimping task? Is there a preference for blade orientation? Three blades inside the pipe and two blades outside, or two blades in and three blades out?

Sometimes shop talk can seem overly detailed about aspects of a product or task that, on the surface, would not appear to be a topic for much discussion. But, Malco is in the business of marketing the RedLine Crimper to all potential end-users and we want to hear all the detailed feedback you care to share about a product that is very important to us and industry pros like yourself.

So, how do you crimp? Share with us in this blog! You can click Malco Products RedLine Video to see a short close-up of the Malco RedLine Handled Crimper in action.

High speed pneumatic TurboShear models are available for all current TurboShear cutting applications and bring an added dimension to the versatile TurboShear product family.

Now there are pneumatic TurboShears for cutting sheet metal, asphalt shingles, fiber cement siding and backerboard. Air-powered TurboShear models offer characteristic premium performance without the premium price. You will find them compatible with your existing air supply set-up. You’ll also find our TurboShear “air power” lineup compatible with your budget.

For AUTO BODY and SHEET METAL SHOPS the model TSHD1A is the quick and easy solution for cutting extremes of large or tight patterns. This versatile 18-gauge (1.22 mm) capacity shear cuts straight and to the left and is capable of both fast, straight shearing and navigating tight circular or square pattern cuts. The shear makes short work of cutting auto body quarter panels and its compact size and wide jaw opening navigates profiles, rocker panels, even layered metal! Cutting round or square body patches is virtually effortless. Large or small sheet metal fabrications encountered in HVAC and metalworking shops can be accomplished with speed and extreme accuracy. Blade sight lines allow the user to follow a fine scribed for straight or arc edge cuts, or tight circular or square pattern cuts.

Malco’s pneumatic model TSS1A TurboShear offers the ultimate solution for fast cuts in ASPHALT SHINGLES. The TSS1A is compatible with your existing nailer air supply. Use this shingle-cutting TurboShear to make fast, clean, straight trim cuts along a roof valley, or for precise corner cuts and circles in asphalt shingles to fit around utility outlets. A lateral blade adjustment capability makes this shear maneuverable in any life-rated shingle or shingle thickness and a wide jaw opening and beveled lead-in tip on the upper blade accommodates multiple shingle layers. A generous lower blade surface area offers exceptional operator control. Heat-treated carbon steel blades feature solid carbide inserts for long service life.

There are also air-powered TurboShears specialized for cleaner, faster cutting in fiber-cement siding and backerboard. A wide skid-plate on the common head design stabilizes cutting action for low dust cutting action and an extra-smooth cutting edge. The model TSF1A is specialized for cutting 5/16” (7.9 mm) FIBER CEMENT SIDING PLANK. One set of blades will last an average of 30 residential siding projects. Model TSF2A cuts thick 1/2” (12.7 mm) FIBER CEMENT BACKERBOARD. This versatile shear replaces messy, imprecise scoring and snapping methods for cutting and trimming backerboard. Both of these versatile shears also navigate curved-pattern cuts for window and door arches. The skid plate can be reversed to extend blade cutting life.

All pneumatic TurboShear models share the same air motor and air supply specifications: 2600 RPM, 4CFM (133L/Min.), 90 PSI (6.2 Bar). Replacement blades are available for all Malco TurboShears and all replacement blades are easily installed on the job.

Malco’s “Quick Action” Carbide Tipped Hole Saws feature aggressive cutting teeth with deep self-cleaning gullets and a generous 2-1/4” (57 mm) cutting depth. They make fast and easy work of cutting large or small holes in a variety of thick or layered building materials. Extra-long, quick-change pilot drills are available in either high speed steel or carbide tipped design. The pilot drill tip extends a full 1” (25 mm) beyond the hole saw teeth to cut through uneven surfaces such as lap siding. These hole saws are ideal for cutting outlet holes through tough fiber-cement siding plank or backer-board including popular James Hardie and CertainTeed fiber-cement products. The full selection of “Quick Action” Hole Saws (16 sizes in all) share a unique quick-connect arbor design that makes release and ejection of thick saw plugs, and changing out hole saws or pilot drills, fast and easy too!

A compact Malco Hand Nibbler, Model FCC3, makes straight, left or right cuts, including precise trim cuts and tight circular cuts in 5/16” (8 mm) fiber-cement siding plank. Use the Hand Nibbler to create outlets for plumbing, electrical, or venting to pass through the siding plank. The Hand Nibbler cuts from the backside of the plank and features a smooth-gliding head surface and an anti-slip, saw tooth style blade profile to produce a clean cutting action with no distortion or blowout.

Ultra-clean, straight cuts in 8-1/4” (210 mm) wide fiber cement plank are possible with the Model FCC4 Guillotine Shear. An exclusive large, stable support plate, with board stop, ensures straight, square cuts every time without compressing the 5/16” (8 mm) trim edge of the plank. No sharpening is required. The Guillotine shearing action is quiet and generates minimal dust. Optimum handle leverage reduces user fatigue.
